  • Usage Data (Local Only): The extension tracks download counts locally on your device to enforce free tier limits. This data is stored in your browser's local storage and is never transmitted to our servers.
  • Device Identifier: A randomly generated device ID is created and stored locally to manage license activations. This ID is only sent to our servers during license activation.

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your browsing history
  • We do not track which websites you visit
  • We do not collect or store the videos you download
  • We do not use analytics or tracking tools in the extension
  • We do not sell or share your data with advertisers

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the limited information we collect for the following purposes:

  • License Verification: To verify your Paid license status and manage activations
  • Usage Limits: To enforce free tier download limits (processed locally)

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Local Storage

Most data (settings, download history, usage counts) is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. This data never leaves your device unless explicitly required for license verification.

3.2 Server Storage

For Paid users, we store the following on our secure servers (hosted on Supabase):

  • License key
  • Email address associated with purchase
  • Device ID (for activation management)
  • Purchase date and license status

3.3 Security Measures

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:

  • All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
  • License verification uses cryptographic signatures (ECDSA)
  • Server access is restricted and monitored
  • We do not store payment information (handled by Polar)

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

4.1 Polar (Payment Processing)

We use Polar as our Merchant of Record for payment processing. When you make a purchase, Polar collects your payment information (credit card, PayPal, etc.) directly. We never see or store your payment details. Please review Polar's Privacy Policy.

4.2 Supabase (Backend Services)

  • Local Data: Stored until you uninstall the extension or clear browser data
  • License Data: Retained for the duration of your license plus 1 year for support purposes
  • Support Inquiries: Retained for up to 2 years
